Rewriting the Rules of Women’s Wellness

Rewriting the Rules of Women’s Wellness

For years, women’s health has been something many of us simply endured rather than understood.  After becoming a mum herself, Sanchia Newman recognised a gap in accessible pelvic health support on the Isle of Man, particularly ‘Mummy MOTs’ that are popular in the UK, coupled with internal assessments.

Symptoms like leaking, pelvic heaviness, back pain or feeling disconnected from our core were often brushed off as “just part of being a woman,” particularly during pregnancy, postpartum and menopause.

But the conversation around women’s wellness is changing, and it needs to!

A Different Approach to Women’s Health

At Be Well, and through The Pelvic Health Project, the focus is simple: helping women understand their bodies and feel confident in them again.

Women deserve more than reassurance that symptoms are “normal.”  They deserve answers, assessment and evidence-based support.

Pelvic health physiotherapy at Be Well looks at how the pelvic floor, core, breathing and whole body work together — especially during major life stages like pregnancy, postpartum recovery and menopause.

Why This Matters

Many of the symptoms women experience are incredibly common:

  • leaking when exercising
  • pelvic pressure or heaviness
  • abdominal separation after birth
  • back or pelvic pain
  • discomfort with intimacy
  • difficulty returning to exercise

But common does not mean inevitable, because with the right assessment and guidance, these issues can often be improved or resolved.

The Pelvic Health Project

After becoming a mum herself, Sanchia Newman recognised a gap in accessible pelvic health support on the Isle of Man, particularly ‘Mummy MOTs’ that are popular in the UK, coupled with internal assessments.

That led to further specialist training in women’s health physiotherapy and the creation of The Pelvic Health Project — a service dedicated to helping women feel strong and supported through every stage of life.

From pregnancy preparation to postnatal recovery and beyond, the goal is simple:

To help women understand what’s happening in their bodies and give them the tools to move forward with confidence.

Strong Through Every Stage

Women’s bodies change throughout life.

Pregnancy.

Motherhood.

Perimenopause.

Menopause.

But with the right knowledge and support, those changes don’t have to mean losing strength, confidence or the ability to do the things you love.

Women’s wellness is evolving — and it’s time we start rewriting the rules!
