The Pelvic Health Project

The Pelvic Health Project

Welcome to the Pelvic health Project with Sanchia Newman: a specialist service born out of the belief that women deserve better answers and real support for their bodies.

The specialist care at Be Well, offers expert care at every stage of life — from pregnancy and postnatal recovery to menopause and beyond — including support with pelvic floor dysfunction, vaginal internal assessments and Mummy MOTs.

This is a space where you can feel heard, understood and supported — without judgement, embarrassment or being dismissed.

What can pelvic health physiotherapy help with?

Pelvic health is about so much more than people realise.

We can support with:

  • Bladder symptoms (leaking, urgency, frequency)
  • Pelvic heaviness or prolapse symptoms
  • Pregnancy preparation and postnatal recovery
  • C-section recovery and abdominal separation
  • Pain during sex
  • Core weakness or instability
  • Menopause-related changes
  • Post-surgical recovery

If something doesn’t feel right — it’s worth exploring.

What makes this service different?

At Be Well through our Pelvic Health Project, we take a thorough, personalised approach to understanding your body.

This includes:

  • A full external assessment of how your body moves
  • Education so you understand what’s happening and why
  • A clear, tailored plan to support your recovery

We also offer internal vaginal assessments where appropriate.

These are always optional, fully explained, and carried out in a safe, respectful and supportive environment. They allow us to understand exactly what’s going on — which means we can treat the root cause, not just the symptoms.

The ‘Mummy MOT’

One of the most popular services within The Pelvic Health Project is the Mummy MOT.

This is a specialist postnatal check designed to assess:

  • Your pelvic floor
  • Your abdominal muscles
  • Your posture, breathing and movement

Ideally, this is done at 8, 12 and 20 weeks postpartum — but it’s never too late. Whether you’re 6 weeks or 6 years after birth, you can still benefit and we’ll see everyone at any stage.

Support at every stage of life

Pelvic health isn’t just about pregnancy and postpartum.

It’s something that evolves with you — through:

  • Pregnancy
  • Postnatal recovery
  • Return to exercise
  • Perimenopause and menopause
  • Later life

The aim is always the same: to help you feel strong, confident and in control of your body.

A space where you can feel comfortable

We understand that talking about pelvic health can feel daunting and feeling nervous before your appointment is completely normal.  At Be Well, you’ll be welcomed into a calm, supportive environment where you can ask questions, take your time, and feel fully at ease.

There is no judgement — only support and nothing is too much information! No such thing at the Be Well clinic.

You deserve answers

If you’ve ever been told:

“It’s just part of being a woman”

“It will settle on its own”

“You just need to live with it”

Please know — that isn’t the only option because support exists and it can change everything.
